I got a 58 on my Ecosystem Gizmo… turns out I misunderstood the whole thing
I thought I was fine.
Did the Ecosystem Gizmo, filled everything in, submitted. Next day? 58.
Not because I didn't do it — I just didn't actually understand what was going on. I was basically dragging sliders and copying numbers.
If you're stuck on the Ecosystem Gizmo right now, this might be the exact problem.
It's not testing "food chains". It's testing whether you understand what happens when one thing changes.
Like predators and prey.
More predators → prey drops Less prey → predators start dying Then prey comes back → then predators come back
It loops. That's the whole point.
Same with carrying capacity. If your graph spikes and crashes over and over — that's not wrong. That's literally the answer.
Most people lose points on the explanation part, not the simulation.
I started just talking through the graph out loud: "this dropped because this increased…" That helped way more than rereading notes.
If you're not 100% sure your answers make sense, just double check before submitting.

Takes like 30 seconds to sanity-check everything. Better than guessing and losing points.
